Education

P4P works to remove barriers to education in the Kopanga/Giribe region, where high costs often lead to student dropouts. Through scholarships and school support, P4P helps students pursue their dreams and strengthens local communities.

Investing in Education

P4P’s Scholarship Program supports promising secondary and college students in Kopanga by covering tuition, books, and boarding fees.

With fewer than half of primary school graduates able to continue their education, these scholarships remove financial barriers, helping students become future doctors, teachers, and leaders dedicated to uplifting their communities.

Keeping Girls in School

P4P partners with Days for Girls to provide sustainable menstrual health solutions and education to girls in the Kopanga/Giribe region. Each girl receives a reusable kit containing colorful cloth menstrual pads (shields and liners), panties, a washcloth, soap, and a carry pouch for washing and storage—all packaged in a drawstring bag.

Designed to last for years, these kits help girls manage their periods with dignity. The program also offers essential health education, breaking menstrual stigma, improving self-confidence, and preventing school absences caused by period poverty.

Access to clean water

P4P installs water tanks and handwashing stations at schools in Kopanga/Giribe, providing reliable access to clean water and promoting hygiene.

These initiatives are vital in reducing waterborne illnesses, improving student health, and ensuring children can attend school regularly in a safe and supportive environment.

Rose's Story
Rose Anyona grew up in Kopanga and received a P4P scholarship to attend high school. Because of her hard work and intelligence, she had the opportunity to attend university with financial support from P4P.  After earning a Bachelor's of Science in Development, Rose returned to Kopanga to serve as an intern for P4P. She is now a full-time employee, supporting health and education initiatives to ensure that others, like her, can have a brighter future.
